The Texas Department of Transportation has given final approval to begin production of Texas EMS Specialty License Plates (click on image below). Already the Department has dozens of orders. To get yours, follow the instructions listed below:

Print and fill out the form found on the TxDOT web site

Mail the application along with $8.00 and a photocopy of your certification to the address listed.

About two weeks later you will receive a letter from TxDOT telling you your plates are ready. They will be mailed to your county tax office.

Phone your local tax office to see what their procedure is and what you will need to bring. Some will ask for the current window sticker and all will want to see current registration and liability insurance card.

At the tax office you will be required to pay a proration of normal registration fees your current plates have been on the automobile. You will be issured a new window sticker with a 1-year validity.

Go mount you plates to your automobile and proudly display them.

Personalized plates (up to 7 numbers and digits) are also available for the regular personalized plate fee plus the $8.00 charge for the specialty plate.
